Project Risk Assessment workshop (Qualitative Risk Analysis)

Projects at Oil Design & Construction Company (ODCC)

As a risk management consultant, I recently conducted a Project Risk Assessment workshop (Qualitative Risk Analysis) based on international standards and best practices for one of the Oil & Gas Projects at Oil Design & Construction Company (ODCC). I am so happy that I had a great chance to lead PRA in front of the CEO who is Mr. Mostafa Khoee, Managing Director and PMO Manager ( Ms.Reyhane Kazemi , PMP) of Oil Design & Construction Company (ODCC). This is a really good point that the executive team of Oil Design & Construction Company (ODCC) have asked PMO to do some risk analysis for major projects in order to increase the profit. The risk management process is too important to be supported by the top management of the Company. In fact, no matter its structure, a PMO without Executive Support probably won’t get very far. If the executive team is unwilling to engage the PMO in strategic planning and risk management process, it makes it much harder for the PMO to add value to the organization. Congratulation to the executive team of Oil Design & Construction Company (ODCC) for their wonderful support to the achievement of the team.

The workshop went into great detail about identified risks in 12 risk elements and its impact towards the triple constraints.

Once I finalize the project updated schedule with PMT next week, I am going to conduct the integrated cost & schedule risk analysis workshop for the above project. Since Oracle no longer supports the Primavera Risk Analysis, I am so excited about doing quantitative risk analysis for this project using Safran Risk. It works very well and I believe that Safran Risk is one of the best risk analysis software in the market.
